Catchafire’s Quick Advise feature allows you to connect with volunteers in a brand new way. Keep reading to find out more about how you can collaborate with skilled volunteers by simply asking a question.

What is Quick Advise?

Quick Advise is a written question and answer feature where nonprofits can ask questions and have them answered by our community of expert volunteers asynchronously.

Quick Advise consultations are a great alternative to a 1-hour phone call if you have a limited amount of time - no need to review volunteer applications or scheduled a phone call - get answers quickly via written response.

How to post a Quick Advise

When you go to post a Call, you’ll now have the opportunity to have your question answered in real time via a 1 hour phone call, or receive your answer in written format via Quick Advise.

You can write your own question, or choose from suggestions written by other organizations. Fill out any additional details, and submit!

What’s Next?

Just like a project or a 1-hour call, you can view volunteer profiles and request that they answer your question.

Then, just sit back and wait for the responses to roll in. You’ll receive a notification when a volunteer answers your question. When you are satisfied with an answer you’ve received, you can select “Accept Answer” to let the volunteer know. You can only accept one answer per question.

Once you have accepted an answer, you may wish to keep in touch with the volunteer or continue working with them on additional consultations or projects. You can connect with them via our Messaging portal, and then post another Quick Advise, 1 hour call or full length project!
