Looking for the right Volunteer for your project? Read below to learn more about how to find the perfect match!

How to Request Volunteers

You can request Volunteers in two places:

  • From the confirmation page, immediately after posting a project or call

  • From your Dashboard, anytime

Once you see a volunteer profile you like, select Invite to Apply. You'll also be able to open their profile in another window to view their experience and qualifications.

If they're interested in working with you, they'll submit an application for your review!

Browsing Volunteers

After posting a project or call, you can browse through profiles of highly qualified Volunteers and request that they apply to your post. Doing so is a great way to draw attention to your post and speed up the matching process. And in the meantime, any remaining Volunteers who come across your project on their own will still also be able to apply!

Right on your Dashboard, you can review your projects and will see the link below to review volunteers and invite them to apply.

You can then view a list of qualified volunteers and learn more about them and their experience.

By clicking on their name you can view their full profile, including their biography and skills. If you think it would be a good match, you can click on the blue "Invite to Apply" button.

You will see a pop-up with the option to send them a message, and then you can send your request!

Requesting a volunteer does not guarantee that they will apply, but it is a great way to show qualified volunteers you are interested in working together!

How We Select Volunteers

These Volunteers have been selected by an algorithm that factors in their skills, recent activity on Catchafire, completion of projects similar in scope and ratings from other Organizations they've worked with (if available). That said, since Catchafire is an open marketplace, we do not explicitly endorse any Volunteers in our community.

Ultimately, we ask Organizations to vet their Volunteers by reviewing their applications and conducting interviews because you know what's best for you! As you review Volunteers, if you ever see someone who might be misrepresenting their background on their Catchafire profile, please let us know by sending us a link to their profile.
