Why Should I Choose a Catchafire Volunteer for My Nonprofit Board?
Access to a large pool of professionals qualified for board positions.
Familiarity with Volunteers, reducing the effort needed to vet the Volunteer as a good fit
Ability to more deeply connect with the Volunteers in your network.
How it Works
Connecting with volunteers you've worked with
Catchafire's Board recruitment tool allows you to connect more deeply with the connections you've already made on the platform. Follow the steps below to connect with Volunteers you've worked with before:
Connect with Volunteers through projects and calls.
If a Volunteer you’ve worked with is interested in being recruited, you will have the ability to send an invite to them to discuss a board recruitment.
Note: You will only be able to connect with Volunteers who have expressed interest in joining boards and you've worked with (at least started a project). The Organization always initiates and makes the initial request.
If the Volunteer is open to being recruited, you will see the option to recruit for board on in-progress or completed project cards.
To send a request, click on the "Recruit for board" button. You can then send a message to the volunteer and invite them to discuss board service.
The request will be sent to the Volunteer in the messenger and the volunteer can let you know whether or not they're interested.
We will send an automated message to you letting you know of their decision either way.
The messaging portal remains open in either case.
You can continue to discuss the position through the messenger to chat more about their experience, interest, and availability.
30 days after the initial invite we will follow-up with another message in the messenger asking if you've both connected. You can let us know whether they've joined the board, decided not to join the board, or if they have not yet decided.
Meeting new volunteers interested in joining your board
With your access to the board recruitment feature*, you can also post an Open Board Position Call that is visible to all volunteers on Catchafire!
Post your Open Board Position call now.
* Reminder that this call is only available if your sponsor has the board recruitment feature in their membership plan.
