Please see below for some tips and tricks on how to maintain communication with your volunteer to ensure you're on the same page about your project.

Make Sure You're Ready

It can be exciting to post a project and start connecting with volunteers right away but it's important to make sure that you have the capacity to manage it! Working with volunteers requires a certain level of engagement so we recommend posting only the amount of projects you're equipped to handle. Pro tip: you don't have to post and manage every project by yourself- feel free to add your colleagues to your organization's page to get the whole team involved!

Personalize Your Project Plan

If you navigate to the bottom of any project template you'll see that we've designed a project plan with various milestones to ensure you and the volunteer are on the same page and you're reaching your goals. We recommend taking this plan one step further and including details and timelines that are more specific to what you're looking to accomplish. That way, the volunteer you choose to work with will know exactly what you're looking for!

Set Up Regular Meetings

Communication is key when it comes to managing projects and keeping volunteers engaged. In order to maintain this communication, we highly recommend setting up regular meetings with whoever you're working with to ensure they're on the right track and producing the results you're looking for. These meetings can be as frequent as you'd like depending on the timeline of your project.
