Our Terms of Service lays it all out for you, but here are some quick answers to common questions about project ownership. All links in this article will open in a new tab.

  • The Organization owns the rights to project deliverables. All deliverables that a volunteer creates through a Catchafire engagement are considered "work for hire" under US copyright law. This means that the Organization ultimately owns the right to these deliverables.

  • The volunteer has the right to feature project deliverables in their portfolio.

Volunteers are permitted to feature the work they've completed through Catchafire in their portfolios, to advertise their services, or for non-commercial purposes.
